& for those of you who have cut it out, how often were you eating it n how often do you now?

Try baked fries, meat with bread crumbs baked, take away the oil and you will gradually go to items without breading.

Fried foods are all around us now a days and its very hard to cut it completely out of our lives, however instead of frying stuff maybe grill it. One drastic way that you can cut it out is to not buy anything fried at all nor go to restaurants that serve fried food or ask them instead of fried if you can get it grilled. Instead of french fries try sweet potato fries, yes they are still fried but are way healthier than regular fries.

I enjoy fried foods as well, but I don't eat them very often because they are too unhealthy. I have found that baking vegetables (zucchini, pickles, potatoes) with bread crumbs gets a similar taste and satifies my craving.

I always here this... What makes them way healthier than a potato? I have tried looking at them broken down and I see some difference, the biggest difference I have seen is that sweet potato is mildly anti-inflammatory while potato is a bit inflammatory. Sweet potato has sugar, potato doesn't. Otherwise similar on the macros. VitA is through the rough on sweet potato though, so that's good. I genuinely am just trying to see what makes it a "far superior" option.

(Disclaimer, I like both, I try to limit my intake, and I actually have found out I have a thing for sweet potato. The taste is odd at first for me, but getting beyond that I enjoy the taste and I feel it helps limit my portioning more than a potato!)

They really shouldn't be compared so much in the first place. Yes, they look similar and can be prepared in similar ways, but scientifically they aren't closely related.

Regardless, sweet potato has (as you said) a ton of vitamin A. It also beats potato into the ground on beta carotene, and wins on fiber, vitamin C, and quite a few micronutrients. They're just a much better bang for your calorie buck (if you will haha).

But I think potatoes get a bad rap. They are wonderful for potassium (I enjoy my made up word potassitoes) and have plenty of vitamins too. I mean, millions of Irish peasants ate basically potatoes and milk and were quite healthy. It's a pretty mighty tuber ;)

I was raised on fried foods...we love that stuff in the south! We try to eat at home most of the week, but weekends are very hard. I struggle everytime we go out...and not just fried foods...all choices in restaurants are difficult! I am not a baked chicken fan. I need to start eating more salads!

As far as potatoes, a sweet potato for me would be a better option than a baked because of how I dress them. I add so much stuff to my baked...
