Hi All,

Really struggling at mo, calories set at TDEE less 20% (from fitness frog). Still doing plenty of exercise but not losing - have been static for past few weeks and even before then the loss has been pretty pathetic!

I know that everyone you speak to has different advice but a few people have mentioned having a 'binge day' - not thinking of eating the menu and chips but a day when you just eat what you want and don't worry about it. Has anyone else tried this and has it worked for you? Any thoughts appreciated......

Also been suggested that I don't eat any carbs after lunch (on low carb already)

Argh! brain getting scrambled and need some help ............please

    Simple answer - "No".

Longer answer: Like you, I am stuck at a plateau, I exercise, and the thought of eating more to lose has real appeal. BUT...

...I believe I am stuck because a) I tend to over-report my calories burned during exercise by using the default calorie numbers in MFP or on the machines at the gym; b) I tend to under-report my calories consumed because of embarrassment (I'll report 2 glasses of wine instead of the 12 I had) or shame (I already closed my diary for the day so I won't count this midnight snack of salami and cream cheese with jalapeno jelly or the 5 mini York peppermint patties I scored in an office candy jar) or it's too hard to get all the details in for something homemade (I'll substitute the Applebee's tabouli for my homemade even though they could be 100s of calories different).

I'm a hypocrite to offer advice, so I won't. I'll only offer the excuses I use and admit that I have to change my behavior, my habits, and my assumptions to get the pounds to come off again.

Some people in our situation want to blame metabolism, the gym machines, a nutrition imbalance....but Occam's Razor (the principle that the simplest explanation is the correct one) tells me I am plateaued because I am eating too much of the wrong things and could exercise more or eat different calories if I don't want t ogo into starvation mode. I am the problem, and changing my behavior should improve my performance.
