Hate my belly fat - I want a washboard stomach!!!

Getting rid of mummy belly-fat - help needed!

Okay, I know I am a terrible chocolate snacker, but apart from cutting out this - what else is going to help? Any ideas?!

Do ab reps work? Weights? Green tea? Eating more protein? Sci-Mx why powder?

It's my only real 'fat' area now and I hate it (I promise to cut out the chocs from next week!!)

I cardio (Zumba and netball) about 4 nights a week but am guessing I may need to change my exercises to remove the flab!

All help much appreciated.
Thanks!

The only way to lose belly fat is to continue eating at a caloric deficit and continue cutting body fat all around. No amount of crunching, green tea, or "Sci-Mx why powder" is going to help that.

What I will suggest is you do the following-
1.) eat adequate amounts of protein for your lean body mass. (1 gram per lb, the amount you weigh minus your fat)
2.)start a strength training program of your choice that focuses on compound movements
3.)continue to eat at a caloric deficit

I would say add strength training, and/or try HIIT. I haven't cut out any foods, but I lost fat from doing HIIT of full body & plyo exercises with weights.

ETA: And yes on the calorie deficit to lose fat overall.

Cut out some carbs!! My stomach is the first thing to go when I do this. Also what the above posters said about the exercises.

You're right with everything except 0.8 gram of protein per 2.2lbs.

1 gram per 1lb will give you diarrhea! LOL :noway:

It shouldn't! :) might want to make sure you're consuming enough fiber ;)

Are you mixing up protein and fiber? Too much protein and not enough fiber usually causes the opposite issue.

Ummmmm, NO it will not. That's ridiculous. I regularly eat 150+ gms a day, and I weight 136 lbs. No intestinal problems whatsoever.

Fiber also gives bulk to your stool. So... No. :)

Add in high intensity interval training 2 times a week. This has been shown to speed fat loss over the lower intensity workouts.

Only thing that works is reducing body fat percentage. So eat in a calorie deficit with good macros and do strength training to keep LBM up.

I have a 3 year old and a 16 month old so I totally feel your pain!

I've lost 3 stone since having my 2nd baby, but would still like to lose another stone or so, and then I want to focus on getting rid of the mummy tummy!

I've been having personal training sessions twice a week for the past 14 months, and I also do cardio a couple of times a week at the gym on my own, and have just started spinning class once a week. It's working, but it takes time.

Just mix your exercise up a bit, do interval training, eat well and you'll get there!
