Fat keeps me full! As a former boredom eater, more fat has helped me break my old habits.

I am not for eat high fat but correct amounts of fat. Around 30%
Remember the "low fat" craze? That's where the food industry lowered fat in all their products, then loaded them down with sugar and salt to enhance flavor
    The obesity rate shot up!
    Nice going:drinker:

Also important is where your fat is coming from. Hopefully healthy places like nuts, fish and flax and not evil (though delicious) places like dairy and red meat.

I've upped my daily fat intake through coconut oil, nuts and seeds - and basically am eating minimally processed foods - no added sugar for the most part, low(er) sodium, good carbs - like quinoa. Just after 4 days of this, I feel REALLY different. I have hypothyroidism, and I decided to read up on it and take matters into my own hands. And, the scale *cross your fingers* seems to be going down, even after this short time, after a 5-month plateau.

I think good fats are great, so far. :)

Don't you just wish that there was a diet that would solve hypo thyroid problems? Sigh... I would save so much money each month... *dreams*

I'm actually deliberately experimenting with saturated fats...

When I was a kid, I remember my great grandmother, my grandmother & my mother all cooking with lard!
    They were all thin!
Everyone cooking with olive oil appears to be ... well ... chubby!

I'm getting my fats from nuts, fish, all meats with skin (not processed) and dairy (although I plan to drop dairy for 6 weeks as another experiment).

I do need to drop my MRPs as they're whey when I drop the dairy....
