I hate myself right now...I'm pretty much back to where I've started. I've let myself gain 10lbs. Not cool. All because I freakin' crave carbs and sweets!!! x0 I suck. I feel awful and I feel like I look awful. The hardest thing is I know its my own fault, and only I can stop it. Why the heck can't I practice more self control???????
Now that I've vented that, this is it. I am going to use this website religiously to help me. I am going to stick to my exercise schedule. I know I can do this!

Telling yourself that you're awful and your suck is not going to help at all! You need to get out of that habit, quick! I know it's easier said than done, but that'll ruin it for you every time!0

setbacks happen... and it isnt easy, we all can attest to that.
I have noticed that if you can keep your diet really good for 6-8 weeks your body will stop craving all the unhealthy carbs, fats and sweets. They will be less and less needed and your body will start craving all the vegetables and fruits you train it to love. The key is to stick with it long enough, dont give up too soon.... Its hard, I know... but it CAN be done

When you said you know you can do this, that is what I said too! From Sept 08 till May 09 I lost 67lbs and then during the summer I didn't do so well and gained back 20lbs! So at the first of August I said no more, and started back trying to eat better. Now I'm doing good and have lost 11lbs. You can do it too! I was hard on myself at first, but I just said to myself I can do this!

You can't deny cravings, but you can learn some work arounds.
For example, bread. There are brands that make 35 calories per slice loaves. I still eat pasta, but I portion control it better.
Sweets, try eating more bananas, grapes, strawberries, yogurt, sugar free puddings, sugar free cookies. Look for items that still satisfy the sweet tooth but saving in calories. Frozen yogurt and icees even!
Modify to meet your body's desires. Your body will readjust and you will be surprised how quickly you will crave fruits instead of sugary, high cal sweets.

If it is not OK to call your friend names or disrespect her, then why do we think it is OK to disrespect ourselves?:grumble: Women need to learn to treat themselves--I'm including myself in this--like their own best friend.
You may have slipped off track for a minute but that does NOT make you a bad person. Just jump back in there and count on your friends to help you stick to a program that you can live with.

I made a DELICIOUS treat for myself the other day when I was craving chocolate:
I blended 1/2 cup of cottage cheese (low fat, 1%) until it was smooth with no lumps and added it to 1/2 cup of Jello sugar free, fat free (made with skim milk) pudding. I mixed it up with a spoon and OMG it was the perfect way to soothe my chocolate craving.
The cottage cheese has no taste, so basically it just thickened up the pudding plus the protein helped me feel fuller which was a bonus!
All together, the "snack" yielded:
Calories - 116
Carbs - 11
Fat - 1
Protein - 150 -
Look on the more positive side. You have lost 10lbs already, that is a great achievement and it is something you know you can do and will do again. This time around, learn from your mistakes. Why did you gain 10lbs? Was it emotional/ habit/ circumstance/ failing to record or measure....etc. (Im not expecting you to answer that question here - but find the answer yourself).
I have reached Goal twice and now trying to reach it for the third time. But I am learning each time. First time, I just slipped back into my old habits very easily. Second time round I thought I was doing fairly okay - still on the skinny milk, avoiding chocolate, chips, fries etc however I stopped weighing and measuring so my portions got bigger and bigger. Third time around I am finding that it is going more slowly than I would like, but I am learning from all my past mistakes. Use this setback to your advantage, pick yourself up and start again, or rather continue!0 -

My daughter decided the other day that she didn't want to eat all of her chicken for supper. So I explained to her that if she only ate half of her chicken, then she would only get half of her dessert. So she ate all of her chicken and was "allowed" to eat all of her fat-free/sugar-free chocolate pudding mixed with the low fat cottage cheese. She got a "treat" that was not only tasty but packed with protein!0
