Sugar questions help please.

I have read soo many different things on sugar. My daily here says 54 grams, however you are supposed to eat 5 pieces of fruit a day and that would be 50 grams or more alone. 5 fruits are about 50 grams of sugar by themselves, however regarless of your weight you supposed to eat 5 pieces of fruit and the less you weigh your daily sugar, cal, etc totals go down. ?

What am I mssing? I have looked all over the internet as well. I know there is re-fined, processed, etc? But I am clueless?

Help!!!!

    I try to be very careful about my sugar intake because not only do I want to eat healthily but I also link skin flare-ups of psoriasis to eating too much sugar.

    But if I can see that all (or most) of the sugar I'm taking in comes from fruit I just can't feel too bad about it. I just can't believe that eating a sugary carrot or banana is bad for me despite the sugar grams.
