Hey guys! I have a question! I have been on this thing about 3 weeks. My old scale said I had lost about 6 lbs. My new scale says I am back where I thought I started so I just decided tonight to start over with my weight # on the new one. Anyway, I used to eat out a LOT due to my work schedule and now I am not so much. I KNOW that I am eating 3-4 times LESS cals a day than I was before starting! I would have expected to be losing MUCH faster but am not seeing much happen! Any ideas?

You may not be doing anything wrong. I worked really hard this past month and I only lost 5 pounds, not the 2 lbs a week or something. Often this process is just sort of slow. ;( Hang in there

When I first joined MFP in 2010, I lost about 15 pounds one summer. But it started off REALLY slow. Like the scale didn't budge. And then I had a couple of pretty dense calorie days and I kind of forgot to track for a few days. Woke up one morning and BAM I was down 5 pounds. It came off pretty steadily after that (I was exercising DAILY).

I am a firm believer that once a week splurge (as in, treating yourself to something bad for you...but not binging) is actually a great way to help you lose weight. As long as you go back to normal right after!

I think it starts slow, and then picks up the pace. You have to constantly adjust your plan to meet the needs of your body as you get into better shape.

I've been on mfp for a couple of years but I just started really trying to lose the weight 5 weeks ago I lost 14 pounds the first 3 weeks and then 2 weeks with no loss at all. Tonite I jump on the scale and I dropped 2 pounds so the way I see it is stick to what your doing and eventually it will pay off.

Something that might help you keep accurate track of the calories when you eat out is a calorie counter book that lists information for food chains. Some foods can be deceptively unhealthy; fast food chains are famous for salads that are worse for you than their regular unhealthy options.
