For people to just bust out and ask if you are pregnant.......I have been busting my butt for the past month, and I can tell a difference in my size way more than the lbs say, and I have been asked more in the past month if I was pregnant than ever before.....in fact I have only been asked that once before until recently....I have been asked 3 times this week!!! And people that KNOW me swear I do not look pregnant....I don't get it!

  • There is a comedian (I don't remember who) that does a bit about asking a woman if she's pregnant. He says, "I believe the appropriate time to ask a woman if she's pregnant is never never never never never ever ever ever ever ever."

It is sad that people ask that. I had my baby 5 months ago, and I had a woman ask me when I was due. I replied "about 3 months ago". Of course you could always be rude about it and say "wow, you look fat too!" :flowerforyou:

 I'm sorry this is happening to you - some people just don't think. I've had this happen to me twice so I def. know how you feel - the first time was the week I came back from having my son & the second was just a couple months before I even got pregnant with my daughter. I don't think its ever acceptable to ask if someone is pregnant if you don't know them - and if you just HAVE to ask, you better make sure their belly is 9months big with the "done" button popped out!

Don't worry, lady. People are ignorant.

Hang in there, if the people who know you don't think you look pregnant than I'd believe them. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

When I first got asked that I would say no I'm just fat, but now its like really people are you THAT ignorant! And 2 of them have been customers so I can't really be rude to em, but that comedian was right never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever is it the right time to ask a lady that! One of my customers that asked me that I replied no I'm not, and she said oh don't worry I'm fat too, I'm thinking ok first you think I'm pregnant, now your just straight out calling me fat?? some COUTH you have!

That happened to me last year and it seemed that once it happened one time, it continued for almost the entire summer. And not only did I get asked if I was pregnant, some of these ladies proceeded to touch my stomach WHILE they were asking. After I while, I truly felt like breaking someone's arm.

    It sucks.....hang in there!!!!

I'm sorry - this just made me laugh. I didn't have random strangers touching my belly when I was pregnant, I would have broken their arm if I wasn't.

Sorry that people even think that's appropriate. Guess they never learned manners.

Yeah I would have rubbed their heads and said getting old? your hairs looking a little thin! lol. Can't believe they actually rubbed your stomache, someone would have lost a limb!

so I seriously just got asked this again.......I am really beginning to wander if my clothes are that unflattering, but my truthfully honest best friend swears there is nothing about what I have on that makes me look pregnant.....I think I might just start answering why yes I am thanks!
  • I feel for you. *hugs*

I've had people ask me the same thing. It really hurts but what can you do? You certianly can't control other people so I've learned to just take it in stride and chalk it up to them being ignorant.

For a lot of us (me included), belly fat is the last to go. So, I am trimming down everywhere else but still have the fat pouch in my belly - which make me look pregnant.

Just keep at it....sooner or later that belly fat will go!

    Good luck to you. :flowerforyou:
