Advice on increasing calories?

After a hiatus due to absolute chaos, I am getting back into exercising. The problem is that a typical session of exercise for me tends to burn a ton of calories (at least 1,000). I need to eat back my exercise calories in order not to become ravenously hungry. However, I find that the nutritious, healthy foods I normally eat when I am not exercising are too filling for me to get the extra calories from them. As a result, I end up eating a lot of junk instead.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do to increase my calories while still eating correctly?

Where are you getting that 1000 calorie figure from?
I would very surprised if your calorie expenditure was anywhere near that.
As for the question, small servings of calorie dense foods, extra virgin olive oil, nuts, dairy, or have a shake each day.
It's fairly easy to add 500 cals to a diet without trying too hard.0 -
Also protein rich foods or even shakes can have the calories you need and keep you full. I drink low calorie protein shakes but if you get the normal calorie ones they can help. Also meats like chicken, fish or steak sometimes can help0

Looking at your diary, you are only burning 1000+ calories a few times a month. If you can't eat the extra calories on that day, carry them over a day or two.0

Yeah, that is why I prefaced it with "hiatus due to absolute chaos." I basically took a break from working out that started shortly before I started logging on here and only just ended yesterday. But before April, I was doing the 1,000 calorie thing a few days a week.Looking at your diary, you are only burning 1000+ calories a few times a month. I do krav maga for 90 minutes, and the estimated calorie burn is based on a few different websites. On the weekends, I go hiking for a few hours, and I use MFP's estimates.Where are you getting that 1000 calorie figure from?0
