Eating the same thing each day

I eat roughly the same thing everyday except for lunch, which changes daily.
Here is an idea
Breakfast - Either cream of wheat with protein powder, banana and granola OR Quaker Oats with strawberries and granola.
Snack - Protein bar/drink on workout days -- Fruit cut up on non-workout days
Lunch - Changes every day
Snack - Apple with Peanut Butter
Dinner - Pouch of tuna with mayo and veggie chips
Snack - Greek yogurt with granola (Sometimes I will skip the afternoon snack and have my apples and PB here)
That is literally what I eat almost every single day. Is that a bad thing? Should I be putting more variety into my meals? This set up just tends to fit my calories and is easy to remember lol. But if it could stall my weight loss I want to change it.

Eating the same thing every day will not stall your weight loss assuming your total calorie intake is in a reasonable place to induce weight loss.
Eating the same thing every day COULD create problems if your diet is lacking in necessary micronutrients. (Note: If your diet is deficient in a specific vitamin, neglecting that vitamin every day is not a good plan).
Eating the same thing every day is usually not good for adherence.0 -

Watch out for developing food allergies...happened to me relying too much on peanut butter - I'm talking eating large portions on a daily basis, not just like 1-2 tbsp per day0

^ I haven't clicked that yet but this is a very good point. Tuna is fine under the proper dosage. I'm not sure I'd be eating it daily.0 -
I don't really see a problem with eating the same things so long as you're happy with it. You'll be the best judge of what you like to eat, what keeps you full and what you get bored or tired of.
A lot of people probably have more of an eating routine than they realise. I can be a bit samey with food except - my dinner changes daily rather than lunch. Midweek I tend to eat porridge for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch every day. Weekends I shake things up a bit, but that works for me. :flowerforyou: Stick with what works for you.0 -

same here, I eat the same thing everyday, I change lunch and dinner around because I don't deprive myself of any type of food and usually eat leftovers for lunch.0 -
I'm lazy so I eat the same thing pretty much everyday. I love my crock pot so I usually make a huge crock pot meal that lasts all week for lunches then I do something different for dinner and snacks. Eating the same thing isn't much fun but neither was being fat.0

I tend to eat the same things throughout the day with the exception of dinners and weekends. Ill occasionally throw in something different just to give my body a WTF is this moment0

I see nothing wrong with eating the same day every day as long as it's healthy and well rounded.
I mean, if you're eating a dozen big macs a day, that would be a problem.0 -
I eat the same things too lol.
When I first started I would eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a couple days.
No reason besides it was really yummy haha.
I wanted to add that I agree with the person above me. If you eat the same thing make sure you're getting proper nutrients.0 -
I also eat similiar if the not same items daily. I do try to change things up once in awhile. I've also read that many successful weight losers and maintainers "generally" eat from a more limited menu. Whatever works I say.0

I'm certainly no expert, but I read that the easy non-scientific way to make sure you're getting the full range of vitamins and minerals from fruit and veg to try to include and vary all the colours as much as possible throughout the day. So if your lunch was a mixed salad with loads of raw veggies or a soup with lots of different things in it, and you added blueberries, raspberries, etc. to your morning cereal, you would probably be getting a good mix.
But unless you are against eating meat I would have thought some different kinds of meat, fish, eggs or tofu wouldn't hurt either. You could have it instead of the tuna sometimes? I know tuna is very low fat, but with some other kinds of meat/fish you wouldn't need the mayo.
I know I don't get the full range of nutrients from my diet, particularly calcium and iron, because I don't really like dairy and don't eat huge amounts of meat. I track them on here, and take supplements. Maybe to be sure take a really good all round supplement as well. It could be an idea to track your calium and iron too?0 -

Thank you for the information but I already have 2 kids and don't plan on having anymore.
I did avoid most all fish while pregnant because of the mercury.0 -
Although you don't want to have more kids, you should still be careful of your mercury intake considering you're eating it every day.
I used to eat the same foods every day with the exception of my dinner. Then I started getting really sick off of them for no reason. I can no longer eat a banana with peanut butter (or too much PB, really), grilled chicken, a relatively plain salad or eggs without getting nauseous/migraines. My doctors haven't been able to figure this one out, but I hope it doesn't happen to you! I really miss these foods.0 -
I change everything everyday lol. Probably because I'm Vegan and would die of boredom if I didn't. I have a lot of fun with looking ahead a week and changing up everything....... It helps me eat more veggies and fruit too as I can implement them in different ways.
I really think it depends on who you are though. I managed to eat the same damn breakfast for 6+ months until I blew up a couple weeks ago and had to change things up before going insane.0 -

^^ This. I tend to cook one or two things and eat them for a week or two. I have a vacuum sealer and I can so it' really easy to make things last.
Lately, I've been stupid busy. I pretty much live on eggs for breakfast, black beans for lunch, and rotisserie chicken for diner with veggies and fruits snacked on through the day.0 -
I eat the same thing everyday. Only my dinner changes occasionally. I don't see anything wrong in it as long as you are not bored. But yeah do make sure you get all the necessary nutrients. To be safe I take multi vitamins everyday.0

variety is a good thing, dont be afraid of a litttle change, beside your body is going to need other vitamins and nutrients from other sources. it would be like
eating banannas every day for example and- you would have a high potassium reading in your system-thats not good.
so think about it- food for thought-and talk to a nutritionist, or your docotor, i know from my trainer that is is not a good thing just for thoes reasons. and parmasean (as in pasta everyday cant be good). :P0 -
I eat the same breakfast everyday, same lunches every other day, same afternoon snack (if I am hungry) everday. I will have the same dinner a few nights in a row until it's gone, then move on to something else.0

I would find it impossibly boring . . . but as far as your own menu you posted, I don't see any fresh vegetables at all. Also, why not switch to salmon for dinner sometimes? Wild caught salmon is so delicious and full of goodness.0

^this. Lack of variety in diet can definitely lead to issues with adherence. It's okay to have the same thing for breakfast everyday and lunch perhaps. But at least add some variety for dinner!0 -

Heh, it's virtually impossible to OD on potassium through food -- and bananas have a lot less than some other sources.0 -
It depends on what your lunches are like, I think. You need more vegetables and a good variety is optimal to make sure you are getting all the nutrients that your body need. But if your lunches contain a lot of different vegetables, then it's likely not a problem.0

After reading this post, I realised that I eat similar foods everyday too. Although I will chance the fruit frequently . I actually cut up few different types of fruits and make boxes for 3-4 days . I do have cheese or peanut butter everyday as a snack, Lunch is grilled chicken or fish and what ever vegetable is available in the cafeteria. Dinner is different everyday.0
