The math doesn't add up

BW 152
CW 132
GW Looking to loose fat and gain muscle
BF% a high 33% per bod pod
Size 6
Height 5'6.5''
BMR per bod pod 1132
Run/zumba/lift heavy. I usually dont loose more then 200-400 cals 3 times a week
Here is the issue. I have been eating 1500 a day but I dont lose any weight for the last 4 months unless I am eating alot, due to a birthday or friend coming out. I know it has to be well over 2000 which has to be well over my maintnance. How can this be if my BMR is 1132? How much should I be eating? I dont mind losing slow because I want to make sure it is fat. Anyone else have this issue or know what I should do?

I REALLY think your body bod test was inaccurate. I doubt the body fat percentage and the BMR. I'd bump up to1700 and see how that works.
  • I'm very new to this but I'll say that my wife was seeing no results until she increased her daily caloric intake. Now she's dropped almost 25 lbs. in 5 weeks.

Okay, I guess you can see I messed up and entered that last quote while logged into my wife's profile. Oops.

How often do you workout and what do you do for a living? I would put you around 1600 but maybe you should try to eat around 1800 as your BMR reading might be off.

I've done bod pod - they're pretty accurate, like within 2 percentage points for fat. BUT I don't know how they figure BMR. Most professional trainers still use Katch McArdle or Harris Benedict and it works the majority of the time. Try those formulas and see if the numbers are different.

PS Don't sweat the fat too much - the woman who ran the bod pod for me said yes its more accurate but almost *everyone* is 2.5% higher than they test in other methods, even accurately using calipers etc. I was expecting 23% and got 25.9%

Thank you everyone, I think I need to eat more. Even todays run I felt weak and I am hungry all the time but 1500 seems like a lot when I am trying to lose weight. Maybe I will go up to 1600 and then 1700. See how that works.
