I just started eating fiber one original (the cereal that looks like twigs lol). I was getting sick of eating the same cereal, so I figured I would try something new. I noticed that this cereal has a ton of carbs (48) but 30 grams of fiber. Does that mean these are good carbs? I am always confused with carbs

Some people are militant about carbs and any grain products are bad. Other people don't care. I fall in the middle somewhere and when I eat grains, I avoid the white stuff, so from a grain perspective (and only grain perspective, as I avoid Fiber One) it is a good source of fiber. Cereal is carbs, period. If you are really watching carbs, don't eat cereal. As for if Fiber One is good or bad, I put it in the bad column because it has artificial sweetener added (aspartame) and food dye. Really, it is up to you to decide what is "good" or "bad" for you, as we all have different schools of thoughts on what to eat or not.

Good carbs are ok, in my opinion, but I run daily and need them for fuel. Cereals like Fiber One, however, have artificial sweeteners, preservatives and other "crap". They're just very processed and somehow fake.

If you need carbs for cardio heavy workouts, try some of the all-natural or organic cereals or just go for (not instant) steel cut oatmeal. I personally eat a bowl of Bear Naked Peak Protien with 2% milk every morning. All-Natural is a little pricier, but to me, it's worth it to know exactly what I'm "putting in" so to speak.

I second this. Another great high-fiber and also high-protein cereal is the Kashi Go Lean original. It tastes great with a packet of stevia, a bunch of cinnamon and almond milk.
