NSV - time for a new wardrobe?

Today was a big day for me. I finally decided to remove all of the clothes in my closet that were unwearable as they are now way to large. I was surprised to find that my current wardrobe is very small, half of the items left in the closet are approaching removal within the loss of 10 more pounds. I have limited my purchase of new wardrobe items since my weight has gone down, call me frugal but, I really hate to spend money on clothes that I may only be able to wear for a month. I have only been purchasing clothing items out of neccessity. I still have alittle over 20 pounds to go, people may just have to put up with my limited wardrobe a bit longer.
Had to edit image size. Also, any recommendations on what to do with my old wardrobe?

I took about 8 bags of clothing to Salvation Army after sorting through it for possible hand-me-downs for other friends who are also losing weight and have resisted buying new clothes.
I pulled out my sewing machine to take in some of my sweaters while it was still sweater season, but for the most part I haven't been brave enough to tailor my pants. As for having enough clothes that fit for the time being, I have picked up clothes from friends and grabbed some work pants at Goodwill and Salvation Army.0 -
I am in the same boat for the most part. I have not completely gone through my closed just yet, but I have been gradually weeding out clothes that are too big and make me look frumpy. I also don't want to go out and buy new clothes if I am just going to have to do the same thing in a month or 2, but my problem is, is that I work at an Investment Firm, so I need to look respectable, so wearing oversized clothes just isn't the answer. I have been frequenting our local resale store that only sells higher end clothing that is in really good shape. I have had pretty good luck, but still need to replace a lot of items.
For me, I just pack away my clothes that don't fit because I am currently trying for baby #4, so I will probably need most of them again at some point. After that though, they will probably go to Goodwill or something like that.
Great job on your weightloss and I hope you feel great to get rid of those clothes that don't fit, even though it is tough to give away items that you paid money for.....:flowerforyou:0 -
I would suggest the salvation army or hitting up any sales you see...tjmaxx and marshalls are great too for clothes super marked down. You can also do a clothing swap. Get a bunch of girlfriends together and go through each others "get rid of" bags. Great way to get cool stuff.0

I do that. But I also buy stuff I can hang up to dry for now and throw in the drier to shrink later after I've gotten (I hope) to my goal. I did buy a couple of new swimsuits. I'm in Florida hard to live without them.
In any case, cheers to your nearly non-existent wardrobe. That is fantastic.:glasses:0
