Am I doing enough?

I am starting to doubt myself and the work that I have been doing...I go to the gym 5 days a week some weeks only 3-4--On Monday I do Body Combat, Tuesday a class called Xtreme, Wednesday Body pump, Thursday Body Combat again and some Fridays I do Body Attack/Pump...I normally don't do anything at the gym on the weekend! I joined a weight loss competition that just ended yesterday and I lost 11 pounds in 8 weeks---very minimal compared to some! I am very proud of what I have accomplished and I decided to join the gym during the competition...I finally feel like now is my time to finally stick to my word and get to my goal but lately I feel like it is not enough...I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old at home and I do my best to fit the workouts in thanks to my wonderful husband since we both work full time. I want to loose at least 40 pounds or if not more by June of next year...Is that reasonable? I am fairly new to MFP...

    Yes you are doing great! That sounds like an awesome plan. Losing 1 lb a week you could very well make your goals, but just keep in mind that some of those classes sounds like it works more on muscles and remember that muscle weighs more than fat. So don't just look at those numbers on e scale, but the numbers on your clothes and how you look in the mirror.

    Sounds like you are doing fantastic! At that rate you are sure to reach your goal. Given that you are losing a little bit more than one lb per week, you can probably be confident that it is fat loss and not just water and you are getting more fit to boot! That is awesome!

  • Thanks everyone! I sure hope I reach my goal for once in my life I want to succeed! I have gone down a size in clothing and I seem to loose weight slower than normal...It took two weeks for me to loose anything during the competition...Sometimes I think I am doing too much but when I skip a day or two I start to feel like I am slacking! I recently starting taking the stairs instead of the elevator and I have to park in the parking garage for work so I do get a bit of walking in! I also thought about going to the gym in the morning before work but the class is at 5 am and thats just to early for me haha!

    If you continue at this rate you'll lose nearly 70 lbs by next June. Sounds to me like you're doing a fantastic job. That's actually a really good rate to lose weight at. Not too fast and not too slow. Keep up the good work and you'll love the results.
