    Most people with several functioning braincells and a little education would have got it. A significant portion of Mfp really isn't that bright unfortunately, or insist on taking things at face value.

    I always understand when people don't get sarcasm on the internet. Sarcasm is inflection, it's tone, it's spoken. Here:

    You gotta lay it on super thick online and even then people are going to believe you. Nature of the beast.

    On another forum I use we can change the color of our posts so we designated orange as sarcasm. Wish we could do that here.

    I think some people here are just so ready to jump on others that they don't even stop to think "hey, that was a pretty obvious/stupid comment...maybe she was being sarcastic?"

    I kinda thought maybe you were being sarcastic, but I saw others commenting to the contrary, and, as another person just pointed out, sometimes it's much more difficult to tell when someone is being sarcastic when you're reading a statement vs. hearing it. Maybe if you had put a :tongue: or :laugh: after your comment, people would have been able to tell you were joking. Just a thought.

    God yes we do. I'll be the first to say, unless I really know one of my friends on here, it's difficult to tell if there is sarcasm going on or not because you get no "tone of voice" as someone else mentioned. But seriously.. it's like beating your head against a brick wall with some people.

    lol, I love Sheldon... and I have resorted to writing (note the sarcasm) after I use it because I got sick of trying to explain things to people
