The UN Diet?

So I had a person (on tumblr) ask me about "the UN Diet" today. I did some research, and have only found sketchy details on the internet.

What I got from it was:

It consists of 4 different days, which you rotate through-protein, carb, starch & fruit.

Each day for breakfast you eat 2 pieces of fruit.

Then for lunch and dinner on the first day you eat protein, then the next, starch, carb, fruit, then repeat.

Every 29th day you have a 'water cleanse' day.

This continues for 90 days, and you are supposed to lose between 18 and 30kgs.

I'm very confused, and it sounds way too good to be true.

**I am not asking because I want to try it, I have had great success with a healthy balanced diet, im just curious**

Has anyone else heard/tried it?

Im looking at trying it because I get bored of the same foods everyday and with my IBS i find it hard to digest some foods and this sounds interesting so thought I would try :) I tried an all protein diet and go sick and tired of eating meat/chicken/fish all the time I gave up!

Why do you think it sounds too good to be true? Just because it's a really bizarre method of eating, and to achieve the stated claims you'd have to defy the laws of physics?

Honestly, it sounds silly. I wouldn't touch this diet with a 10-foot Twinkie.
