Hi, I'm Heather! 28 and 5'3", work-at-home mother of one and married to my best friend and love of my life. I am pretty new here, been using the site for about a week and loving it. I was tracking my cals in a spreadsheet before but my friend turned me onto mfp and I love it.

To explain why I'm here, I went in for an annual on 6/15 and found out I was 190lbs. That's as much as I weighed 3 1/2 years ago at 40wks pregnant with my daughter - so that was a huge shock and wake up call. I had known I was overweight, but to find out I was actually obese was a huge shock and I decided that day I was just done. I haven't had any tea or pop since that day and not more than half a cup of milk a day (sometimes a whole cup instead, it depends on why I'm having the milk - a half cup for cereal, and sometimes an extra half cup with a banana for a snack) and have pretty much solely swapped to water, which has made a huge dent in the calories I'm getting daily. I've also done at least 30min of cardio every day starting on the 15.

I feel like I've done a 180, like the switch turned off and I'm just done being fat. I'm usually coming in under calorie without feeling hungry as most of my excess calories were drinks (which makes me worry a little - I feel like it -should- be a struggle, haha). I'm still waiting for it to get difficult, I guess, although I'm sometimes pushing for the last few minutes of cardio.

Anyway, tl;dr, feel free to add me. I'm not eating 100% clean but just focusing on a calorie deficit and exercising daily, and feel like talking with people going through what I am would be nice :)

I feel your pain. In Feb. I topped out at where I had been when 9 months pregnant with my 5th child. It was a huge jolt. That and knowing I was going to be 40 in August. I felt miserable and tired. I started watching my diet and lost 4 lbs. Then I found MFP and have lost another 24 lbs. since March. Currently I am doing Chalean Extreme and am going to start Turbo Fire when I am finished with CLX. I will add you. Having a great support system is key!

Happy to add you! Is Chalean Extreme as much fun as it looks? I've mostly been doing Just Dance for Cardio because I work up a killer sweat (Well - I do - my husband just waves his arm. He usually gets a higher score but no workout - I think I win!)

Chalean is a little slower paced, you lift 3 days but they are all different circuits. Then you do 2 cardio days, one has an ab workout and one has a stretching workout. You get 2 days off. The lifting circuits are less than 40 minutes but I usually burn 300+ calories. TurboFire is faster paced. I am excited to see how I can hang with that! I like the results I am getting!

That sounds kind of fun. I ordered the 30 day shred and I am looking forward to it, I like the idea of getting my butt kicked. I did Turbo Jam before but honestly ended up a little bored, haha.
