So..having a rough cold right now that I've had a while, but its' gotten a lot worse since yesterday..don't think I will go over the calories because all I want is hot coffee, hot tea, water, and soup.....I'm drinking lots of water but I don't want to exercise!! If I had a babysitter I would just sleep, sleep...sleep! What do all of you do when you're sick? Are their any good foods you reccomend? Do you continue calorie counting and the same fitness regime or do you take it a little easy?? just curious..If it doesn't go away soon calling the doctor.

I drink tons of water, eat soup (thanks Mom) and ice cream, and take it pretty easy. I have never in my life called the doctor for a cold.

    I personally don't.

Your body needs calories to fight off whatever. And really getting healthy faster is top priority.

Your body is telling you something with that wanting to sleep - it's working on it's own healing. That comes first before one's fitness regime or even adhering too strictly to one's diet when one is feeling A-OK! You're on the right track with just going with hot liquids(save for the coffee IMO). Rest and simple liquid stuff is just what the doctor ordered and will ease congestion and make one feel a little better.
Your program will be waiting for you when you get better - in the meantime, rest as much as you can, and don't worry so much about calories. You're likely not getting all that many anyway with the tea, soups, etc. Again - REST.

When you're sick don't worry about your calories, and don't workout! The extra stress of working out will make it harder for you to get better. Just drink lots of water and medicine only if really needed. I would try to sleep it out so your body can use all of its energy to get better. When i feel really sick i like to eat fruit popcicles. They are light on your stomach and easy to eat.
