It depends if I'm spending the weekend there :)

I flew to Buffalo (my home town) for a half-marathon, but we went to Niagara Falls after.

Drove to D.C. for the Rock & Roll marathon (4.5 hr drive). BUT we stayed and took in the sights, restaurants, etc.

We also spent the weekend in Charlotte (2 hr drive) for the Warrior Dash.

I love to run so no place is too far for me, but I like to check out the restaurants and bars, too!

Nice!!! I'm a fellow Buffalonian (did I even spell that right?) Well sort of Buffalo, I'm more of a South towner from there! Niagara Falls is beautiful and should never be missed when you are in the area!

For a 5k (or 10k) probably not more than 30 minutes, but they are all over the place where I live. There is a race I like to do in Salem MA (home of Halloween), that they do right around Halloween that is 6.66 miles. I enjoy that one, and drive a little over an hour for it, but I stay at my brother's house.

I drove a couple of hours for my first half-marathon. I got talked into doing it by a friend who lived in the next state. I've done several since, but never driven more than an hour for one.

I have a couple marathons coming up. My first is in October and is a little over an hour away, my second is at Disney, so I'll be taking a plane. ;)

My husband is the runner, but we went to another country (10 hour drive) for his last marathon. We did stay for 3 days and we took 3 more days after the race to drive back home...

A few years ago, we drove 8 hours for a half marathon, which was too far and we agreed that we wouldn't do that again. Next time we'd take our time coming back or spend a few more days hanging out after the fact.
