I need advice...

I love to exercise. I mean I really LOVE it. I try to do a little something all day every day, even if it is just walking a few more steps or doing jumping jacks while I have a few extra seconds to spare. My biggest issue, however, is that I have really really bad knees. I want to start running, but every time I do, my knees swell and are really painful for several days afterwards. My knees crack and pop all the time. I wear a knee brace most times but it doesn't really help. How do I do cardio without killing my knees?

    If your knees are that bad, it might help to do low-impact activities, like swimming, because you really don't want to injure them past the point of no return. Have you had them checked out by a doctor?

    I don't have any insurance or a doctor. So, no. :( I really want to go, though, but I'm kind of afraid they're going to tell me there is something dramatically wrong with my knees. :\ My mother and my grandmother have both had both knees replaced.
