Saw an idea
I read an idea in a magazine this week that I liked. It said to take a bunch of vegetables (it could be the "scraps" from cutting them up, or if you have too many that are going to ruin, etc.), throw them in a pot with whatever herbs and seasonings you want. Boil them all together. Cool and freeze in ice cube trays and freeze. Then, take them out and throw them into your dishes when you need a buillon or more flavoring. It was a recipe by some great chef who said he always had a pot of this boiling on his stove from all the "scraps" that were left over from his dishes he was cooking. I haven't done it yet, but liked the idea.

I do this!! I save all veggie scraps from cooking and about once a month I cook a whole chicken in the crock pot for meals and combine the liquid from that with the veggies garlic, cayenne pepper and a few cups of water and make my own stock. I usually use it pretty fast so I just keep it in a jar but the ice cube idea would be cool!! Throw a couple in with rice or when steaming veggies ect...0
