Chest pains while doing cardio

Last night at the gym, I started getting a really sharp pain in my rib cage. It felt like I was being stabbed. I was on the treadmill doing the hill program at around 3.8 mph. I pushed through the pain and finished the program. It ended up going away about half way through. Then I moved to the arc and it came back ten times worse. I couldn't push through the pain this time and ended up leaving the gym before I wanted to. I did finish the arc, I just decided not to move onto anything else. It went away though after I was done. It was only hurting when I was working out. I had a hard time getting my HR up last night too. On the treadmill it was holding steady around 124, on the arc around 135. Usually on the arc I'm around 150. It hasn't came back. Ever happen to any of you? Any idea what could have caused it?

Don't mess around with chest pain. Pay a visit to your doctor, just in case.

It wasn't like near my heart. Kind of hard to describe. It was lower in my rib cage. It started off as cramping then felt like I was getting stabbed.

I highly recommend that you see a doctor as soon as possible. This could be angina, which if ignored, could lead to a heart attack or stroke. I'm a heart patient too, so I recognize the symptoms. Of course, I'm not a doctor, but better safe than sorry.

Sounds like a stitch, especially if you ate within an hour or so before exercising. If you are concerned then see a doctor as none of us know what it is for sure (even if we were doctors). I get chest pains when my HR goes above a certain level. I just make sure I take things easier.
