About a year ago and a half ago, I weighed anywhere between 285 and 290lbs.
By the end of last summer, I almost reached my goal of 200lbs, thanks to cycling, Xbox Kinect with a couple of exercise games, and cutting back on my calorie intake. I settled on 210lbs because everyone was telling me I didn't look healthy (despite my doc saying I should be just under 200 for my 6'3" height).
That was the lowest I weighed in over 25 years, despite countless previous attempts to lose weight and get healthier. I swore I'd never let myself back to 290lbs.
Anyway, this past winter, I wasn't careful with my intake and put about 30lbs back on. :-/ I wasn't overly concerned because I knew once the warmer weather came around, I'd be back to doing what I like to do: cycling. I am now on my way down to my new (original) goal of 200lbs.
A friend introduced me to MyFitnessPal and I love it. It beats any other trackers I used the last time. I'm amazed at what it recognizes when I scan the barcode.
My best advice to anyone trying to lose weight -- stick with it. It WILL happen eventually, just be patient.
