Last November I started on this get healthy kick and so far I think it’s been working. I started out at ~220 and I now around ~190ish. I never understood the “Eat back your exercise calories” thing; I wanted to lose weight so I ate less, cut out a bunch of junk and started exercising. I saw all these new TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) like BMI, BMR and things like TDEE. I’ve read many authoritative posts by well meaning folks who are sure they have the answers for all our ills, so here are my questions.
1) In the last 3 months I’ve walked ~325 miles and biked ~175 miles and only lost about 2 lbs. Am I in full fledged starvation mode?
2) I order to start losing again do I need to eat more and exercise less?
3) Since my caloric intake (ave. 1470 since Oct. 31st) is below BMR (currently 1673) and has been for 8 months, how long do I have before my body, in a effort to save itself, consumes all my muscles and leaves me a quivering mass of stored fat?
