What supplements should a women take?

Correction: What supplements should women take?


I am wondering what supplements I should take... I want to maintain my lean muscle mass and gain muscle... lose fat.

I'm taking whey and fish oils.

What do you think or amino acids, creatine, or glutamine?

    You will get sufficient amino acids from the food you eat already, unless you are in a large calorie deficit or heavy weight training in a fasted state you wont need them

    Creatine is good, and cheap, but you will only really see the effects if you are heavy weight training regularly, it will also make you hold water which will, in turn, increase your scale weight.Thats not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of

    glutamine is a weird one, people seem to rave about it despite there not being any evidence it actually works.

    Personally, I would just stick to your whey and fish oils.

    Glutamine is fab. In my opinion girls should take a multi vitamin, omega 3,6,9. and a fiber supplement if lacking.
  • I stake a standard multi, fish oil and vitamin D (because I'm a sunblock goddess)

    I'm just doing basic training... trying to get more lean... my body fat is 20%. I still want to enjoy cardio, but fear that I will lose muscle.

    But I am doing a lot of lifting and squats. I want my body fat to be between 15% and 17% and would love my muscle mass to be 130lbs... right now I am about 119lb lean mass.
