Keeping metabolism normal after low calorie days

Hello,

I'm looking for a little metabolism insight...

I know that you're not supposed to dip below the 1200 calories BUT I've had close to no appetite due to strep and I think it's kind of silly to try to keep eating when there's no appeal for it. I'm sure I'll get my appetite back soon enough and then I plan on doing some metabolism recovery with extra strength training and focusing on extra healthy eating. Also, I've lost about 5 lbs in the past week(yay strep, haha) and I'm FINALLY fitting back into last summers clothes - woohoo!

Does anyone have any advice on how to transition back to normal eating without gaining back the weight I've lost? Or do you know if a person's metabolism is even affected after this short of time?
