Trying again -difficulty losing & being motivated

I had some success on MFP earlier this year - then stopped tracking foods for a few months.
I'm back tracking - plus upping my exercise.
Finding it harder to be motivated. Eating Avg 1400 calories/exercising 744 calories. Haven't lost anything this week.
Normal?

How long ago was it that you started watching calories again? Also, what types of exercise are you doing to burn those calories? How are you tracking your calorie burn?0

Been tracking again starting Monday, 8/31. Granted I do realize weight loss may take some time - perhaps my mind is thinking this should be more instant based on my exercising.
SInce tracking again on Sudnay 8/31 -- Jogging 3 days week for 2 miles (avg 10 minute mile),
2 days of 30 push -ups (in one minute) and 40 sit-ups (in one minute), Curves program 5 days (30 minutes/avg calorie burn 514) and 2 days this week I've done a stationary bike for 20 minutes.
Tracking calorie burn by MFP, what the bike states after the 20 minutes and the Curves smart program computer database will tell me how many calories I burn at the end of each session.0 -
On the day's you are exersicing are you only consuming 1400 cals, if so your body may be in starvation mode as 1400 -700 (from exercise) leaves you below what you body needs to function (BRM). On the day you exercise try eating the 1400 plus at least 75% of your exercise cals. That would be about 1900-2000 cals.0

My husband stated something similiar and I gave him "are you crazy" look with words similiar to that's what got me to this weight - I ate too many calories per day. I admit I was a bit rough on him this morning.
So perhaps I need to readjust my mindset to think it's OK to eat more when I have more intense work-out days.
Thanks.0 -

Thanks.
Eating 2000 calories a day hasn't brought anybody to this site.
We all know that 2000 calories was in 1 meal.
And remember to apologize to the hubby.:flowerforyou:0 -
I did apologize & was forgiven.
Now time to re-evaluate the way I think about my meals.0 -
Thanks. Congratulations on your success.0

I started on 6/3 @235 with a goal of 2lbs lost per week (eg 1200 per day). Since then I've been exercising almost everyday & eating 1200 + exercise calories (between 25%-100% of them)--I workout after work & before dinner so I eat until I'm full. AND, have lost 37lbs.
Your hubby is right Only allowing your body, which is a machine, 700 net calories in order to keep your organs functioning has got it screaming "I'M STARVING, FEED ME OR ELSE I'LL STORE EVERYTHING YOU EAT AS FAT IN CASE YOU DECIDE TO STOP FEEDING ME 1 DAY!" I used to have the same issue with not eating enough & not losing so I know how you feel....But I'll bet if you force yourself to eat at least 1200 net calories (eg daily calories - exercise) for a few weeks--it will take time for your body to trust that you'll feed it--you'll start to see the scale moving again0 -
Thanks for your words. Eating more has become a big change in mindset for me.
I did make an effort to eat more calories yesterday and am attemping to do so today.
The other mindset is to not compare myself to others. Weight loss is different for everyone. I should not be expecting overnight weight loss miracles for me.
I've become discouraged enough to turn down social engagements because of the food/drink that will be served.
Today, one of the gym fitness trainers suggested add more protein to my diet. The trainer also stated this is a temporary set-back. I will get over this hump.0
