I've been on a diet restriction as of the past week- my gynecologist said no more High Fructose Corn Syrup or regular Corn Syrup or anything with too much sugar, besides fruit because of my PCOS.

My mom went out the other day though, and bought TreeTop Apple Grape 100% Juice.
I'm craving some right now, and I have the calories for it, but it has 22 grams of sugar.
My doctor did recommend fruit, and this is just 100% Fruit Juice, nothing else.

Should I be able to drink it? I figure it would be like eating a piece of fruit.
Or should I just eat a piece of fruit?

LOL, I don't know.
I just want to know before my mother goes out and buys 8 million gallons of the stuff, that I'm allowed to drink it.

I dont know but Ive been told that 100% juice is good. It doesnt have any added sugar its just the sugar off the fruit that made the juice no added stuff, so I guess thats like eating fruit.:flowerforyou:

There is 100% juice cranberry that I absolutely love. You might try to find the lowest of the fruit drinks with out HFCS. Good luck!!!!

I've read that the whole fruit can be better for you because it's more filling/satisfying and less calories and sugar since the actual fruit has the fiber etc, whereas the juice is just the juice. However- I think that you are probably safe with your fruit juice on the sugar side of things, because it sounds like it's a pretty natural product.

    Good luck.

Unfortunately, drinking fruit juice isn't the same as eating the fruit. With the fruit you get the fiber which slows down the release of fructose and doesn't spike your blood sugar like fruit juice does.

If you have the juice, have some fiber with it. Another tip- it's better to have your sugar early in the day when you have a better chance of burning it off.

Read the what is in it. Sometimes even though it says 100% fruit juice...there is still some Corn syrup in it.
