Strategies to reduce dietary fat

How do you guys here handle fat content in your diets? I am noticing that I am consistently going under my calorie limit for the day, but going over (sometimes barely, sometimes much) on fat grams. I am being careful of how I prepare my food, but some foods, like ground beef or ground chuck, are inherently high. I am convinced it is a matter of different choices. I love meat though, and I do not like ground turkey. Also, there is hidden fat in foods, especially the "healthy" labeled snacks.

Just curious about some of your strategies.

It's not bad to go over, as long as you reach calorie goals

My strategy for cutting down on getting too much meat fats - I will portion half of a fattier meat (say, salmon, ok not a meat but you get the point) with an equal portion of lean meat (whitefish in this case). It's just like how bodybuilders will add egg whites to a few whole eggs

Also, cook with broths over oils if possible

    This.

Less red meats and more chicken/fish.

My strategy regarding fats is to avoid trans fats at all costs.

    That's it ...

The conventional wisdom regarding consuming fat (heart disease, etc, blah) is what got me fat, I don't subscribe to that anymore. I damn near killed myself trying to follow the 'low fat, watch the calories' dogma and I hate it.

Same with consuming cholesterol ... Total BS. Eat eggs, they are good for you.

I cook in 100% animal fat and love it. As a byproduct I am dropping excess fat, feel energised, my mind is clear and am seeing muscles I haven't seen since 20 years ago.

Coconut oil is mainly saturated fat, if anyone still tells me this is bad for me I KNOW I am talking to someone who is clueless.

I'll actually skimp on the animal fats so I can add saturated fats from coconut oil and eggs...I can be more precise in measuring. Got to love my saturated fats and cholesterol
