Ankle injury-Exercise ideas please!

After my first run on pavement I thought I had what was a stress fracture. My doctor thinks it's just a strain, but he says no walking (as exercise) or running (duh) for a couple weeks. Swimming is a lovely idea obviously, but I don't have access to a pool. Does anyone have ideas for exercise I can do? I'll wait til it stops hurting before I start biking, but I'd like to get my heart rate up somehow before then.

so glad to hear it is not a fracture! That is great news. Too bad you don't have access to a pool; are you sure biking is out of the question? I am currently dealing with a pretty bad calf sprain, and cycling doesn't bother it because there is no impact. Have you tried biking with the ankle? If that is out of the question, I would probably use this time to focus on upper body strength work outs and lots of core work. Core work is really important for running, so working on that will improve your running when you can get back to it.0

For cardio throwing out some vigorous air punches works pretty well.0
