It all started with a comment from my 8 year old son...

"look at that big lovely belly!!!" My son said this to me on July 12. On July 13th, I revisited this site, and was determined to lose my belly. I started out at 265 lbs. Today less than 2 months later I weigh 244 lbs. My belly is still there, but less so. I ran three miles for the first time in probably 15 years. If I were back in Marine Corps Boot Camp, I would have just missed the minimum cut for a timed 3 mile run (must be below 27 mins), as I ran the 3 miles in 28 minutes. I feel healthier today than I have in 16 years. So, if your son/daughter/whoever gives you such a compiments such as what a lovely belly, take that as a challenge! I did, and I am happier for it!

That is so awesome!!! Great job!!! I can't wait until I can run... right now I'm just doing aerobic classes and walking.
I went to my daughter's step-brother's b'day party, the step-brother offered me a bag of chips, and I declined. I explained that I was trying to lose weight, and I had already lost some weight. He then said, "Yeah, I think my grandma needs to lose some weight." I was hoping that she did not hear! They can be our motivation!!!0 -
Wow...Way to go!!!!! Keep it up!!!0

ABSOLUTLY AWESOME!!!! You go girl! :drinker: :flowerforyou:
I know what you mean about those kinds of "compliments". My sister (God rest her soul) once told my son, "Your momma thinks she's skinnier than she is. She needs to look in the mirror at herself. It's a joke." Of course, he asked me about it and repeated what she'd said. That was like lighting a fire that no amount of water could put out. I wanted to look outwardly the way I felt inside - THIN! It's been a yo-yo battle but at least I'm still fighting.
As for the belly thing...you gals, I have to testify. I have that "baby belly" from my c-section. The doctor "messed" up and shredded my muscles and he told me that I would never be able to lose the belly. I started Pilates and I can't believe the results. Neither could my friends.
Anyway, that's my story.:blushing:0 -
I like that compliment. Hey he did say "lovely".  Good for you for doing something healthy for yourself. Gotta love kids, huh! Good luck with your continued weight loss. :flowerforyou:0

Know that feeling. My daughter made a comment about me being fat...then again that's a teenager for you. The other two children defended me "Mommy's not fat."
Yup, kids say the darnest things.0
