Heya everyone i'm new to this, first day :)
Well im getting married in a little under 2 years, i want to look fabulous on the day but i also want to feel really confident in myself too, not be all paranod thinking oh god do i look fat?? i do dont i??

I've tried dieting and that before but i always end up giving up id feel depressed thinking its not working so id just quit. ive joined a gym a month ago and am going 3-4 times a week..
I love it but with junk food and all around, its hard to say no to it i suppose sometimes! I probable sound silly ranting on  i just need some motivation to stick to this calorie counting and to stick with the gym!!

  • No one ever said it would be easy; they only said it would be worth it.

I got married at my highest weight and I wish I had started on the diet path two years before the wedding. We just got our wedding photos and I wish I were thinner.

I, too, am counting calories and I found that it is easier not to have any of the "junk food" around. When my husband buys it, I have a little container on the side of the fridge (opaque of course) that he puts it in. Right next to it is our fruit bowl. I figure, out of sight, out of mind. For the most part, it works. If I see the snacks, my mind is tricked into thinking I want it. If all I see is healthy food, I either realize I am not hungry, or I choose the better food.

    You can do this!!!

Focus on ONE day at a time. When you go to bed successful, it feels REALLY good, like you really accomplished something! Commit to today, just today. "Each day has enough trouble of its own."

  • hey :)

i want to tell you from first hand experience that it is easier to transition into healthy eating habits if at the beginning you give yourself a snack day weekly. Even the best trainers say that we need this so we dont feel deprived. Additionally, right now there are many options to eating a healthy snack during your regular week. you can always have for example a cup of yogurt with a cup of blueberries. Just know if you write down what you are eating on here you will see what you are eating, this happened to me. I realized what i need to eat more of and what less of and what none of. I realized that for example a donut which is alot of calories that are unhealthy, you can choose something healthy with half the calories and still be satisfied. Its all about choices that you make, eating healthier you still have everything, i do not like to call a diet because i dont believe in diets. after doing this for at at least two weeks you will feel better because you realize you have a choice everyday. best of luck

I second this. After about a week and a half of entering my data, I had overhauled my life. I literally had NO IDEA what I was putting into my body. I also used to think "a doughnut can't be THAT bad, right?" WRONG! just stick with this site and work hard and you'll reach your goals! :flowerforyou:

Welcome aboard. This is easy, you can do it.

Hey - you said ""I love it but with junk food and all around, its hard to say no to it""" Well, how do we fix that? Don't have it around! Don't buy it, don't let it in your house.

Once in a while I splurge, but it takes an effort. If I want a Skor bar (a weakness of mine) I have to physically get up and go out somewhere and buy one. So I rarely do,,, that's one strategy - there are many. You'll find what works for you.

    C'ya around,
