In serious need of encouragement!:(

So, I went way over my calories twice this week, which hasn't happened since I started my journey in January. To top it off, my new calorie goal has been lowered to 1250 a day so I already feel defeated:( Ugh, I barely make it to the gym and I do have some work out videos at home, but I have 6 year old twins who require my attention at ALL times if I'm awake and breathing! lol. I'm hoping I do not gain a pound this week as I haven't faced that yet and don't know how I would handle that disappointment. Looking for words of encouragement to get me back on track and keep me focused on the positive. Thanks in advance;D

Did you go over by 3500 calories? Not just your daily allowance, but your maintenance? If not, don't worry about it. You won't gain a pound.

Every day is a new day. You can blow it one day and start all over fresh the next day. I think if we feel guilty about blowing it we can get very down on ourselves and feel like: I'm never going to be able to do this. But it looks as if you have lost 50 pounds. That's phenomenal. I bet it's about what one of the twins weighs. I just started this MFP program but I'm very optimistic. Hang in there. You've already learned new eating skills, I'm sure, and they are there in your brain, tools you can use.

In the grand scheme of things, falling down for one week won't matter. It's only if you fall down and STAY down that you've truly failed.

I know you can do it!
  • It takes a seriously motivated woman to raise twins and stick to her dietary goals. You are already a winner in my book. Even if you were to gain a pound this week; I have faith that you will lose twice that next week. Just keep in mind that you are burning calories by playing with the twins.

I only went over 1400 calories for the whole week, but i'm freaking out about it. Maybe I'm just being too hard on myself. And you are right, I've lost more than one of the twins cause they weigh 44 pounds each! lol

I would not worry about that, it is not even enough to gain half a pound, quite honestly. I had a week where I went over twice, by over 3000 calories, lol. I have gained less than a Ib from that, although granted, I do exercise daily for over an hour.

Going over on any particular day is not a Mortal Sin, and in any case, there's no such thing as Diet Hell or Diet Satan ... the only Diet Demons are the ones we create in our own heads.

We get in trouble because we give up when we think we've Sinned and are Unredeemable ... it's the dish or two of ice cream we have every night that does in our diets, not the dish we happened to have one night.

I figure tomorrow is a new day and a new week and I'm gonna try to start out with 30 Day Shred BEFORE double trouble hit the floor. Hoping this will start my week out right. I'm gonna try and plan my meals too so I don't overeat and just eat random junk. Wish me luck!:) Thanks for the positive words everyone.:flowerforyou:
