Need Some Advice On Cutting Carbs!!!

Ok guys, I need some advice on cutting carbs. I have been dieting for about a year. I lost a good amount of weight. I have been strength training for about a month and can see a huge difference everywhere on my body, except my tummy! I have always heard cutting carbs can really help with extra stomach fat. I don't want a low carb diet... I don't think it is a healthy way to live for me. I don't mind cutting some carbs though, to cut down on my belly fat. The questions is, HOW MUCH? How many carbs can I have a day? I know I need to be eating only whole grains, but how many should I shoot for in terms of carb grams? Also, who has cut carbs in hopes a flattening out your stomach and succeeded? How soon could you see a difference? etc. etc. etc. Thanks guys!

Try cutting 30% of the carbs you currently eat, then check results over the next 3 months.
Measure body fay as well as weight

Body measurements are a great way to track progress.

Anyone else have experience with this? I would love to hear some personal results using this method.0

I had some stubborn belly fat to shed (as well as other fat!) a while ago and I only really made progress when I cut out the grains.
Seriously, I know this can be seen as some kind of madness ("But what about the healthy whole grains?", "What about fiber?", "What about give us our daily bread?") but it worked for me.
I read "Wheat Belly" which was a catalyst. I have just as many calories these days (if not more) but I'm still losing, especially around the middle.
Hey, I'd say give it a crack of a couple of weeks, if you can imagine life without sandwiches0 -
Hah, thanks DeadVim. I am actually ok with cutting out bread. I am even ok with pasta. I have a real hard time with rice though. I love any type of Asian cuisine, so that is gonna be the tough part. I am also a huge fan of my morning cheese grits. It is worth it though!0

my best friend has been on low carb for years and I did it for a while. I love fruit too much so I stay to a low PROCESSED carb diet. I have found that boiled califlower that is mashed up a bit works well for a rice sub. If you put it in a blender and put some butter and chicken stock in it it becomes AWESOME mashed potato replacement! so good!
also if you have the time, speghetti squash is great for a replacement for noodles. It isn't great in every recipe but, italian, anything european and american saucey recipes this little bugger cooked till ALMOST done is wonderful
also too if you want to look into things like SPROUTED grains (they make everything out of sprouted grain, it can just be a little more pricey) but they actually are great for supporting low carb diets. do some research on it it might help to REPLACE choices for you0 -
I have shredded lots of belly fat cutting out starches; wheat, rice, corn, potatoes, beans, etc. I thought I would D-I-E without my pasta, rice, bread and so on. A year later and I could care less whether I eat them or not. I also opt to avoid "low fat" items as many of them use hidden starches are fillers and thickeners.
The biggest bonus was the absence of bloating & gas. For my body, limiting my intake of starch has produced amazing results! We're all programmed differently, but maybe give it a try for a couple of weeks and see what happens?
