a year or more ago, i started on this site, i was logging everything, having good success etc etc. i plateaued a bit but that didnt bother me. i was still going to the gym, eating well, training and all that.
then a few things went down hill. we ran low on money and my gym membership lapsed (which i got back up and running a while ago now), I had a car accident and wrote off my car.
since then i have really struggled to get back into it. ive made a few attempts to no avail. today i try again. anyone got some tips on how to keep on it.

Everyones motivation and Drive are different. I've always been overweight (my whole life). I went through those terrible years of teenagers/adults calling me names and destroying my self-esteem. I could always picture myself lean and healthy but never had the determination to get there. Like everyone else, I wanted every Quick Fix to take the weight off over night...and like everyone else gained it all back plus some. A few years ago, I lost 74 lbs. I followed the gov't Food Pyramid as far as selections and portion sizes and began walking. I did not allow myself greasy fried foods, fatty foods, or alot of snacks. And the weight began coming off. Each day while walking on a track I would try to walk further, faster. Every now and then I'd burst into a really fast walk, then slow up to catch my breath and then do it over and over. People around me commented about how I was losing, but I couldn't see it. It wasn't until I went to buy clothes that I realized I went from sz 22 jeans down to a 14, and a 2x tshirt down to a large, then it was sinking in that I had done it. And for the first time since junior high I was under 200 lbs. Then stupidly I began letting soda and snacks back into my life, followed by fast food, fried foods, etc..... over the course of 2 years I gained 60 lbs back. I no longer walked. In March I was looking through pictures of myself. I always hated pictures of myself because they never hid the fat or unhealthiness of my body. I saw a picture of myself after I had lost the 74lbs and wondered why I would have ever wanted to gain it back. That day I joined this site. I keep that picture on my refrigerator now so I see it everyday. My family has a long history of heart disease and diabetes. I don't want to be a statistic for them. I'm not a gym goer, I can't motivate myself most days to exercise but I do enjoy working in my yard (which most days is alot more exercise then a 1 hr. Zumba class). I'm slowly trying to get myself motivated to ride a stationary bike I purchased used on Craigslist and invested in a workout ball. I have a ton of dvd's. Today or tomorrow I should receive a Heart Rate Monitor to track calories burned. I have little finances as I have been laid off all winter, and work is very slowly picking up. I don't have money for a gym and probably wouldn't join one anyway as I'd have a great distance to drive to one. The internet has so much to offer on exercises you can do at home without equipment. I'm not a poster child for weight loss or exercising but I do know to do it...you gotta want to do it. Everyone has a different story or motivation....you just need to find yours. You can always add me as a friend. I'm at that mental state that I am in it for the long haul....I will lose and I will get healthy. Sure I'll make some mistakes along the way...but thats how I learn. You can do this!0
