The last 6 months I've basically been in maintaince mode as far as cardio / diet goes (and probably slipping a bit). I've continued to lift weights twice a week doing a basic full body workout with moderate weight (3 sets of 10-15).

I've gained about 8 pounds in 6 months and I'm curouis how much of that might be in additional muscle.

It would be very difficult to accurately determine this without an in depth battery of testing; BUT; if I had to guess, assuming a neutral calorie intake, and your weight training schedule, I'd say anywhere from 3 to 6 lbs of it are muscle gains.

I bought a body fat caliper for $20 at GNC. It takes a few times measuring before you get the hang of it but it is pretty acurate. I measure once per month to find out how much fat I have lost and muscle I have gained....

 Per the experts muscle does not weigh more than fat! A pound is a pound is a pound!

Muscle is more dense than fat, does not weigh more, so if you lose a pound of fat and gain a pound of muscle it will even out on the scale...

  • Change one of the set so that you can use the heaviest weight and only finish at 6 reps so you can build more muscle.

For women, we only can gain up to 2 lbs/month

COUNT DOWN; 2 mores days before weight in, need to lose 2.5 lbs.
