Weight gain after just a wedding?!?

I'm really puzzled.... I went to 2 weddings on the weekend, 'behaved' myself - no booze, only one cupcake at one, and a mouthful of cake at the other. Had more carbs than normal (one had afternoon tea, so i had to have bread), but i didn't expect to put on 2lbs in 2 days?!? I'm eally upset, as i was the same weight for 3 months, lost 1.5lbs in a week (yay!) then this (boo).

Has this ever happened to anyone else? It didn't interupt my exercise routine at all - i did my personal trainer's plan on Friday (before wedding one) and a 5 mile run yesterday.
Why has this happened? Will I ever lose weight?? Very frustrating.

Unless you overate by 8,000 calories, you did not put on weight. It's just water retention. Here are some possibilities:

    1. The food was high in sodium, causing you to retain water
    2. Your muscles are repairing themselves from the exercise, causing you to retain water
    3. The little bit of extra sugar from the tea and cakes are causing you to retain water
    4. Extra exercise from dancing is causing you to retain water
    5. Even though you ate healthy foods, you ate more than usual, and the "added weight" is really just the extra weight of the food working its way through your system
