Thinking of starting an experiment with my body

To see what kind of results I would get:

Alternating spending one month in a calorie surplus (not a major one, just a bit of one) while focusing on heavy strength training and moderate intensity cardio. Then one month doing calorie deficit, high intensity cardio, and calisthenics for strength training.

Any theories on what would happen? Think I'll try it after the surgery.

PRobably would have to do 60 day intervals.

    Here's my prediction:
Surplus: Gain in strength and weight, both lean and fat tissue.
Cardio Month: Loss of strength and lean tissue, along with fat. Fat loss will be slightly better due to previous month's surplus and small amount of muscle gain.

Sounds like a really small window bulk/cut cycle to me.

If it's calisthenics, then you may notice a small drop in strength.

It begs the question, are there time periods for bulking that are too short, or too long to be optimal? Do you have to bulk for x period of time to accrue new muscle? Is there a period of time that once you exceed this, the body is no longer as efficient at adding muscle?

Not trying to hi-jack your thread here, but your proposal brings up questions in my mind related to my own goals.

Hope there are some answers out there.

Familiar with bulking and cutting. I just wanted to see what would happen if I shortened the duration of time spent on each one.

I bet net result would be pretty much wheel spinning.
