Is it harmful to eat back my deficit calories on another day

Or at the end of the week?

For example, let's say my calorie goal for each day is 1200. I end up only eating 1150 calories each day. At the end of the week, will I lose the same amount of weight if I eat the remaining 300 calories (total calories for day 7 being 1500)?

What if the daily deficit is 100, 200 or 300 calories (resulting in a deficit of 600, 1200 and 1800 respectively)?

The way i look at it, if your budget allows for 1200 a day, that's 8400 a week. I don't think it really matters how many you eat a day (unless it's REALLY under 1200 per day) as long as you are at 8400 at the end of the week. I usually workout at the end of the day when my daughter is in bed. I sometimes don't eat a lot afterwards because I go to bed. So the next day I may be even hungrier than usual, and eat more than my alloted calories but it works out because I was under the previous day.
  • i've wondered this too.......
i've read that some people do save up a certian amount of calories a day and then use them on weekends for drinks or going out to eat....i'm not sure..
for right now since i am trying to kickstart my weightloss i'm being strict but i know myself and i won't keep that up forever. i like to drink delicious beer. my plan is if i intend on drinking on a weekend evening, workout hard in the morning and fight for my right to party.
i do know that weight watchers has those "flex points" and when i was on that program, i would lose weight whether i used them or not. i never worked out when on that program either. i would use my flex points for saturday night and weigh in on mondays, and lost close to the same amount every monday regardless.
