Hi, I'm Shye. I weigh 190lbs (was a bit more but lost about 5 lbs) , 5'4", 28 years old.
I'm philosophically opposed to diets but am also ridiculously overweight and need to do something- my mother is morbidly obese.
I could do with support...I just want to eat!

OMG - don't go there, eating for the sake of it......it is so much harder to lose than it is to put it on!!! At 190 lbs you do not have a hard job in front of you......If you continue to gain weight you will be over 200 lbs very soon - can you imagine how you will feel the day the scale says that to you????

Get to grips with MFP NOW!! Make yourself a group of friends who will support you through this challenge. Start logging everything you eat straight away you will be so surprised at how many calories you are eating.

Good luck on journey - only you can do this but you do need the help of like minded friends     :flowerforyou:

    Thanks!
I'm trying to get my head around BMR - too much calories vs too little... But I'm two weeks into my life changes and it's going well so far.

 Hi welcome to MFP, if you want to add me do, its up to you. Its not as simply as people make out, your right its not about diets, its about changing what you eat, it has taken me 6 months to lose a stone but thats fine with me, now I have got my head round things it is getting easier. If you have a wii fit, use that if you dont want to go to gym
