I'm new here, both the site and the forum. I thought it would be rude to not stop by and say hello, so "Hello"!

I'm here because I want to lose a few pounds (obviously), but I also want to work out a healthier diet for myself, as I rely too much on the foods I know are bad for me, but are convenient. I'm also hoping to use the site to motivate me to do more exercise. I sit behind a desk all day, so I really want to make sure I'm staying fit. I've also signed up for a 10k run in September, so I really need to work on my fitness if I ever want to cross the finish line in any state other than a hobbling mess.

I definitely need motivational help (I have a glass of wine next to me as I type this. :-s) and would love to make some new friends.
