I found this site by trying to look up nutrition information for a diet journal I am keeping. My place of work is currently having a contest to see which team can lose the most weight percentage. I am not sure how it will work, but I thought keeping track of my food intake with nutrition information for the items would be a good place to start. Each team has a message board but no one on my team is posting so motivation from team members isn't there. We were supposed to have five members but two didn't get weighed-in so are not part of the team. I am hoping I can find support and motivation here instead.

I'm as new as you can be to computers. My son uses it to play World of Warcraft. My beautiful daughter told me to find this website to help me lose wieght. I have 5 kids. The oldest 33, the youngest 15. I am 55 and have never had areal wieght problem until the last 5 years. Every year I have gained at least 10 lbs. This year I quit smoking and every time I get wieghed it is more than the last time. It took me all morning to learn how to get on this web!!!!! I look forward to meeting people here and learning more to do on the computer! I REALLY hope to lose wieght for a change. If someone responds to this, I'll be shocked! Hope everyone out there is losing wieght today!!!!0

Thanks for the welcome. I am already using the food and exercise sections of this site. I went to the tools section to get my weight loss ticker. I picked it out but don't really understand how to get it to my posts.
I work 12 hour days, three days a week. I have two daughters, one who is now married, one who is a junior in college. The married one graduated from college in Dec. 2008 and got married in May 2009. She and her husband moved so he could continue his education for the next three years while she looks for a job.
The younger one is overseas studying at the moment. I don't know what she will do when she graduates. I don't know if she does.
My husband travels some for his job. He has said he will walk with me on my off days. I generally don't have a lot of energy left after working all day. It is also dark when I get home now so walking then is not safe.
Thanks for the encouragement.0 -

you can copy your weight loss ticker onto a forum signature that will show up every time you post.
You create your forum signature by going to "change forum signature"---you'll find that on "My Home" in the tab that says "settings"
your signature can have your ticker, your name, your goals, a favorite quote
you put your ticker on the signature by copying the code and pasting it on the forum signature
