Needing Some Help...

Hey gang.
I have started 2009 off great. I have dropped quite a bit (in my eyes) of weight and feel much better. However, I feel that I've sort of plateaued. One week I weighed myself and found that I had dropped a lot of weight!! The next week I put a few of those pounds back on. I've been hovering around this area for a while. I'm not eating horribly and I'm exercising pretty regularly. Any suggestions on exercises that'll kick my butt into shape? :grumble:

This thread with out a doubt was the best thing I read when I started here. It let me know that my plateau's and weight fluctuations were normal and to be expected:

Other than that, why not try the C25K program that you can find here:

It gets you running very slowly, but it works amazingly well. I've never been a runner, and I'll be 50 on my next birthday but yet, I'm doing this program and celebrating with great enthusiasm my success!
If you want to try it out, there is a group on here that's doing it together, you can find it here:

Try to change up your exercize routine. Do something different for a week or two and you may notice that you will lose a few more pounds.0

Sounds like you've done pretty good so far! I've found that (for me), while exercising will certainly help take the inches off and get you in shape, it doesn't take off the pounds. I really have to watch what I eat as far as calories and especially sodium intake. If I go over my calorie goal for the day I usually won't lose any weight and sometimes even gain a little back. Also, it's not always about the calories. I really have to watch everything else close, especially sodium and fat!0

Yeah. I've been playing a lot more basketball than running or lifting or anything. I suppose I'm not looking to "lose weight" exactly, just rather to turn it into muscle and attain a fit body. I know it won't happen if I keep going over on my calories.0
