36 pounds in 4 months?

My names Sarah and this is my first post on mfp, I'm 19 and I'm from England. :) I'm only 5"1, really short and when I joined mfp, many months ago, I weighed 166 pounds and was classed as obese. My weight since joining last September (? guessing when I joined!) had gone up and down. In January, I lost 10 pounds to weight 156 pounds but gained it all back when I fell off the diet. On the 16th June, 10 days after turning 19, I decided to try weight loss again. I've lost 11 pounds as of yesterday just from controlling my calories, I've been eating 1000 a day (less than recommended but I'm feeling fine). I've started an exercise regime today, I plan to do approximately 2 to 3 hours of exercise a day trying to burn 1500 to 2000 calories a day. I just want to know if I'm being realistic with my goals! I want to lose 36 pounds by October 28th because I'm moving to Portugal and I want to feel comfortable and happy while I'm out there, I don't want to be trapped by my body. :) I'm trying really hard. My plan/goals are to lose 14 pounds in July, 9 pounds in August, 7 pounds in September and 6 pounds in October (the decrease is because I know it gets more difficult to lose after your body becomes more familiar with your new routine).

    I think, burning that many calories a day, you have room to eat a lot more! Even trying to lose 36lbs in 4 months. (That is not impossible.. 7 weeks, I'm down 30 lbs) You can see my diary, I eat 1100-1200 and burn way less than you.

    <lost 41 lbs in about 4 months, cardio 5 days a week, weight train 4-5 days a week, and i avoid all fried and fast food... so yes I would say it is possible with hard work and dedication

    Thanks for the replies guys! I've always had a slightly overweight BMI and I've never really exercised. When I got to a BMI of obese, I just wanted to lose it. I'm now back into the overweight category which is a big thing for me but I want to be a healthy weight and I know for that I need to exercise but I didn't know how much! So thanks for the advice, its kinda a load of my chest knowing I won't have to kill myself everyday like I did today, burned 1600 calories but I'm knackered! I'm really dedicated this time. I want to be in the success stories section of this forum. So I will.

    I wish I could lose the weight you two of lost already!
