stomach pains... anyone experience this?

hi guys... i've never made a forum post before but i'm feeling a little desperate at the moment! a little over a week ago i started having pains below my left ribs. basically between my ribs and hip bone. it's very tender and painful when pushed on (i know... so don't push is!) and generally feels incredibly uncomfortable all of the time. like there is way too much pressure there. it gets quite a bit worse after eating. i went to my doctor yesterday and she said it could be stomach acid built up... because apparently heart burn and acid reflux can be re-directed to other parts of our bodies. she gave me some pills that will help with this if that is indeed the problem. then she told me to schedule an abdominal ultrasound in case the pills don't work. has anyone experienced something like this?
more symptoms include occasional nausea, occasional random fevers, burping a lot more, and irregular bowel movements. i have always had irregular bowel movements but it's been even worse since this started.
thanks so much for any thoughts or advice you have for me!

It reminds me of gall bladder symptoms but that would be on your right side... The nausea and fevers would be concerning enough to say "go to the doctor", but you did, so I guess I'd just wait and see if the pills help.0

thanks so much. yeah my doctor said the same thing... when she heard my symptoms she immediately thought gall bladder then saw that it was on the left side so that was ruled out.0 -
Good luck... sounds pretty unpleasant.0

Some people can have their appendix on the wrong side...I wonder if you can with a gall bladder.0

Are you eating any dairy? Lactose intolerance can give you some of these same symptoms too.0

hmm... i had ice cream a couple times recently and don't usually. i eat greek yogurt and cheeses pretty regularly though and used to have milk with cereal before i switched to almond. never had issues back then. is it something that can happen at a certain age?0 -

You can develop a milk allergy, yes. Plus, a lot of people have had more issues lately with the amount of hormones going in to dairy!0
