14lbs lost in 2 weeks on Optifast 70 Diet!

Pretty stoked about my initial two week loss of 14lbs on Optifast 70 diet! Yes, I know a lot of it was water weight, but as I was at 180 (even higher the week before I started logging), This drop seemed to make a difference in my face and tummy right away.

If people SERIOUSLY struggle with a large amount of weight loss and have the willpower to eliminate food for a few months, you have to check this program out. It's amazing and of course guaranteed if you follow the program. Just wanted to share <3

Congrats on losing the 14lbs, however, a diet like this isn't really sustainable over long term. You may lose weight but you can't eat a shake style diet forever, and thats where things go downhill. Yes you may get fast results with this and you may even reach your goal but that's all temporary.

It doesn't even have to do with starvation mode really. A lot of people debate whether starvation mode exists and how much it actually can affect us but there is a more prominent factor in all of this. That factor is that you aren't learning how to eat and sustain yourself healthily.

90% of people who lose weight will gain it back and more within a handful of years of losing it. People who do dieting of this kind make up a large number of those people. Once you stop eating liquid and go back to normal food, even without starvation mode you are going to gain weight back because you have not changed the root of the problem which is that every single day is a battle with your weight. This isn't something that you can fix in a few months and be done, everyday we have to make choices and I am not going to lie, for SEVERAL months its going to be hard to start changing your life for forever. Nothing about our diets can really be temporary if we want long term success. Its about changing your diet for the rest of your life. That may seem daunting but it does include some compromise in it, just overall our diet has to be changed and its not something we can do for just x months its something we have to stick to for the rest of our life.

I wish you good luck on your diet, and while it may seem a bit better than diets that cut your calories to dangerous levels, this diet is still really going to set you up for long term failure.

Hi Quilled, thanks for your advice! <3 That being said, I do understand how easy it is to put back on the weight, but as I said in my blog, my program has a slow 6 week reintroduction to food, then weekly meetings for another 6 weeks for monitoring and support once food is fully reintroduced, THEN a full year of monthly group meetings after that.

It's not to say you can't fall back into old habits, but I am certainly feeling optimistic about such long term support and assuming I will really worry about what I put in my mouth after not eating solid food for months <3

I really do appreciate you help and advice though <3
