Chalene Extreme by Beach Body (Chalene Johnson) is nice for beginners. And Chalene appeals to many women.

I personally Like P90x with Tony Horton a bit better myself, (also Beachbody) which can also be used by women. But many women find his workout style a bit more intimidating.

Both are good full body workouts however. Just a personal preference.

Starting Strength dvd. It has a lot of great coaching.
Get the book, too.
This is if you want to get strong, and have rock-solid bones too. If you just want to fling around light dumbbells, then.... I can't help you.0 -

I am doing JM 30 DS, and I love it!!0

I am personally loving anything Jillian Michaels.....I can totally see a difference in my arms, abs and legs. It is an all over workout no matter what DVD you get. I just started 30DS and am already feeling the difference!0

I like the Crunch Fitness DVD's, they are sort of dated, but Boot Camp and Body Sculpt are both terrific and get they results!0

I think I'm going with Les Mills Pump starting in August. It comes with a barbell and 5 and 10 lb weights...plus the DVDs and a 90-day schedule.0

I'm doing 30 Minutes to Fitness "Muscle Definition" by Kelly Coffey-Meyer and really liking it. It just uses hand weights. I did have to start lower than suggested.0

I have done Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred and I'm now in the middle of Chalean Extreme. Both incorporate weights and encourage you to lift as heavy as you can. I'm happy with both programs. 30DS you do every day for a month. Chalean Extreme has 3 days a week of weight lifting as well as two days a week of a more aerobic video. CE costs a lot more, but is a three-month program.0
