Is it not just as offensive for someone to tell a thin person to "eat" or "put some meat on your bones" because air conditioning makes that person cold, as saying "lose some weight" or "stop eating" to an over weight person who is hot?

Yep. Some people seem to think thin people don't get offended, apparently.

There are people out there without a filter in their brain. I guess some don't get hurt feelings as easy as others so they don't think anything of it when they hurt someone else. Sorry it hurt your feelings....maybe you should turn around and tell the person who said it to you maybe they should lose the weight and get healthy :-P

Yes it is! Besides that it won't help keep you warm, I'm fat and I carry a jacket around with me all summer because air conditioning makes me cold!

I agree with you all. I am thin, but have worked my butt off since January to lose and maintain where I am at. I guess my feelings weren't hurt, just annoyed that people assume if you are thin/ lean, you must not eat. MFP has really shed a lot of lught on portion size and making choices.

Those people would probably make the fat comments, too...

It is never polite, EVER, to comment on a person's weight. That applies to fat and thin.

I actually think people are more likely to comment on a thin person's weight to their face than a fat person.

You should say something every. single. time. Most people just don't realize how rude it is.
