Fat rolls?

For starters, I'm 5'7" and 145.1 pounds - within a healthy weight range, and still losing.

I've had these two fat rolls my entire life, and they're driving me INSANE! They get smaller as I lose weight, but never really go away. One is above my belly button (it folds over so that I can't see my belly button unless I lift it up) and the other is directly under my belly button. Even at my lowest weight (134) they were still there and prominent.

Are there any exercises I can do that might help this? Has anyone had this problem and managed to get rid of them? It's driving me crazy!

Thank your mum & dad! Sounds like it's just where you store fat...

    Seconded.

You need to get your body fat % low enough to hit those areas. You may not need to lose a lot more weight; recomposition may be your best bet soon (eating at maintenance and lifting).

And it is also genetics that can play a big role in where you store your fat.

That's what I was going to ask.

Welcome to the B belly club :)
All my family have bellies like this and I was surprised when I first saw a D belly.

I too am at my goal weight, and have been for 6 years, and have never been able to get rid of it to the extent that it is not visible when sitting. I never wear a belt it gets crushed in the rolls, and am so glad trousers have low waists at the moment- the 80's high waists were murder.

I have found that maintaining a strong core, good posture, and lifting heavy things has improved it significantly.

I also think if I ran a bulk and cut instead of a slow recomp and got my BF down from 25-ish to the low 20's it would help no end as I store most of my fat in my belly, however I realise I don't have the dedication to do that at this point in time.

    Cheers, h.

I don't know if it's the same, OP. But here's my stomach's difference and i always thought i was doomed to have this "roll" and "line".
    Before, During, and After

At my heighest weight i was still not "fat" and i just couldn't understand why i had this pink line above my stomach and anytime i sat down it looked like this:

I was in the healthy BMI range, i looked good in clothes, etc. etc. etc.

It took me losing an additional 15 pounds from my initial goal weight to fix this problem. Sorry if it's hard to see in my first photos but there was always a pronounced red line.

So can it be done? Yes! Don't give up! You just need to lose more fat than you probably think.

also, i am cringing looking at these pictures. What's worse is those shorts fit me perfectly when standing but as soon as i sat down this happened. Last time i wore them they fit me like this:

Great work well done, I'm officially inspired :)

@rainbowbow you have a different type line than I have, and what I think the OP is talking about.

My waist runs right through my belly button and gives the look of a top tummy and bottom tummy. Your belly button is lower than your waist and no top tummy.

Thanks for the pics, here is a comparison with my belly button at waist. I searched for a seated one - couldn't find one but I think there are a couple of belly exposed pics in my profile.

    Cheers, h.

Sometimes you just gotta roll with it.
