Ideas On Adding Upper Body Workout

Since late June I have lost 23 pounds (total weight loss goal is 60 lbs); my workouts during this time have been strictly cardio 30-40 minutes a day, 5-6 days a week (including Couch to 5K currently on week two). In the next couple of weeks I plan on incorporating upper body lifting (lighter weight high reps) using a Boflex but I am not sure how to log the exercise on the site. Also I want to continue cardio with Couch to 5K being my priority – is that enough cardio or should I do more than the 3 days a week on the Couch to 5K?

Log under Cardio as Strength Training.

I guess I did not explain what I was looking for too well - on the Boflex the resistant rods have numbers but I do not believe the equate to pounds (I may be wrong) when you log in the strength training you need reps and weight, I am not sure what weight to list based on the rods used.

Under Exercise Tab under Cardio training, click add exercise and look for "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" to get calaries burned.

If you are following Bowflexes workouts that come with it, it is more like circuit training and you can enter that under cardio as well and will show more cals burned than the Under "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" for the same duration.

If you do resistance training 2-3 times a week plus your 3 cardio sessions you should see big changes. As you build muscel from resistance training you will burn more cals all day long (at rest or as you workout) Good Luck.
